Well I finally had enough of the silver spinner and DIB and CharlieJ have been on about this so I gave sides 1 & 2 a spin. The drumming is superb. Possibly the first time I’ve played it on the Orbe and really listened. Agree with your comments. Pity the first four LPs weren’t produced like this.

Followed by Achilles Last Stand and side 1 of In Through The Out Door still in it's brown paper cover.

Not to feel left out I also bunged it on the turntable last night . It is album of theirs I play the most .

Achilles Last Stand is my favourite Zepplin track .

Is that because you were still too young when the first four were released?;)
Enjoyed sides one and two of PG that I decided to spin sides three and four this afternoon followed by this.

Someone who gets very little mention on here.

Looks like the snow will put the mockers on my trip to Rugeley tomorrow.

No , it's because the only other LZ album I own is Houses of The Holy and that is more scratched that PG !

I do have the use of II , III , and IV but they are not mine and are even more scratched than HOTH .

Listening to Cats Under The Stars by The Jerry Garcia Band . Haven't listened to this for 30 years . It's alright but it won't be coming to the top of the pile again for some time .

I've had a few vinyl-free evenings, so time to make amends starting with these:

1) Circuital - My Morning Jacket

My favourite album of last (and probably this) year.

2) The Life Pursuit - Belle & Sebastian

3) summer teeth - Wilco

Currently running in a new phono amp, details to follow. Been guilty in the past of making too hasty a judgement, but this one is knocking spots off my onboard Creek phono board. Let you know next week.

Anyways, playing two of my "reference" LP's...

I quite like this, bought during some random vinyl buying online -

S/T album by 9DW, a Japanese group producing funky Jazz dance music. Very summery, very chilled and very nice.

Some real stand out pop classics, interspersed with slightly weirder, more introspective, but no less joyful tunes.

One of, if not his best.
