What a fine eclectic list.

I'm reciprocating, Charlie-I've dug out the Hatfield's records. I love Richard Sinclair's bass and voice. Don't get me started on Caravan: I might crap on more than usual.

Last couple of days:

Stephen Stills- Manassas.

The Allman Brothers- At Fillmore East.

Bert Jansch-Birthday Blues

Bronco-Ace Of Sunlight.

Jess Roden-Jess Roden. Jess should have been a huge star; glad he wasn't though.

Aswad-Live And Direct

Aswad-Hulet.

More miscellany:

Trains To Brazil - Guillemots 12"

Why Are People Grudgeful? - The Fall EP

High Noon/Organ Donor Extended - DJ Shadow 12"

Swing - Morris/Gilbert 12"

The Goldberg Variations - Bach/Martin Galling harpsichord

Trans - Neil Young

Play Dead - Bjork/David Arnold 12"

Workbook - Bob Mould

One of the best uses of multi-layered guitar captured on record. Not exactly a world away from his Husker Du style but a least once removed. His voice, a yearning thing of raw beauty. The production truly all-enveloping. Oh, and cellos. Second only to Good Vibrations in their use in a pop song.

have you got Paradise Filter?

No, I haven't managed to get hold of a copy yet. This guy on a market stall is looking out for one for me; if that fails I guess I'll have to get one from the usual sources and pay over the odds. Is it any good? I'm afraid I think they may be past their best, but that doesn't stop them from making a joyful noise.

Regards.
