Have you heard blood on the tapes? Some nice out-takes although a lot of them can already be heard on the bootleg 1-3 and other bits and pieces

by the way sorry about the repeated posts. On the gf's iPad and it's not working as it should

Yes, I've got a terrible cassette of Blood On The Tapes. I hope the supposed official release adds more takes/versions and superior sound quality.

The out-takes & different versions on both Biograph and Bootleg 1-3 are very, very good. Further proof that the takes that made the LP at the time were not always the definitive or best. Cf Another Self-Portait. One of the joys of Bob worship is tracking down the other versions.

Vapor trails from the night before, my past enshrined, scattered across the floor. Sleeves and empties.

Sunday recovery time, so it's sides, tracks, moments from:

Hot Sauce Committee Part Two - Beastie Boys

John Wesley Harding - Bob

Sandinista - The Clash (Side 6 of this sprawling memory lane manifesto).

50th Anniversary Box 1963 LP#1 - Bob

(a mix of extraordinary and ordinary cast offs from The Times They Are A-Changing. Of particular note, a stunning studio take of Percy's Song)

Silver & Gold - Neil Young

Dark Star - Grateful Dead

(the utterly sublime part 1 on Side 1. I paid silly money for this on RSD a coupe of years ago but it's a thing of sonic and musical wonder)

Handful Of Earth - "Richard" Gaughan

Technique - New Order

Spike - Elvis Costello

Check Your Head - Beastie Boys

Brighten The Corners - Pavement

Darkness On The Edge Of Town - Bruce Springsteen

I'm cheating here, as I can't play the vinyl, but I have it on vinyl, and I'm playing it, so there. 😛

Tappa Zukie - In Dub

Picked up my secondary system yesterday- Project debut Carbon MSL, Cyrus 6a and CM1s, so have been breaking the system in with every Pearl Jam and Steven Wilson-involved record I own. Which are more than a few.

I sold my Pro-ject Debut III 4 weeks ago, thinking I wouldn't need it anymore.

On holiday this week so it's Monday morning vinyl.

Just brought down another crate from the loft, it's sifting time. So far, I've sampled a track or two from:

SST Acoustic

I'd forgotten about this. An early 90s compilation of SST label acts unplugged. Mostly baubles but some gems.

Kill To Get Crimson - Mark Knopfler

Faithful - Todd Rungren

Suede debut LP

Commericial LP - The Residents

Galapagos - Tortoise 12"

Aerodynamic - Daft Punk 12"

Skinstorm - Bradford 12"

River Deep, Mountain High LP - Ike & Tina Turner

Nearly God - Tricky

More Cole Espanol - Nat King Cole

Perfect time to grab a good vintage deck, ie. Thorens/Lenco and do some fettling. It's fun.

Though not tight, I am having to be a little careful with my money as work is a little slower than I'd like, and I've just been away, so I'll just have to wait for the Radius to be fixed.

May I ask where you're based?

Thats about two hours from me (Bournemouth).

You are most welcome to collect my refurbished Sony Front Loader and hold on to it for as long as you need/until you get yours back should you wish so.

regards

That's very kind of you drummerman, but I'm hopeful that I can get the repair sorted in 7-10 days, so I'm sure I'll manage without vinyl for that amount of time.

Thanks for the offer though.
