A few days off but been doing a bit more excavation today.

The Well-Tempered Synthesizer - Walter Carlos

Part-surreal test record, part novelty rendering of classical pieces, part demonstration set for this then new-fangled instrument. Utterly riveting. Sonic wonderland. Neu-meets-PSB-meets-hyper-Muzak workout.

Stanley Kubrick was obviously a big fan. Cf. A Clockwork Orange.
