What TV is this?

After seven years with my trusty Panasonic plasma it's time for an upgrade (it's not even full HD). However, just ten minutes research is hurting my head so can someone recommend one?

Full HD - not bothered about 4k due to lack of content.
Freeview HD
46+ inch
Smart TV / full aps including Sky NowTV
Ethernet connection (not just wi fi)
I'm not bothered about 3D (I hate it) or gimicks such as voice control
Pref WHF 5 stars
Not bothered about sound quality as have home cinema system
£500 - £1000

Reads like you were asking about either Sony 50 w829 or Samsung 48 H6400, both best of their kind & cheap. The Sony might be a little tricky to locate now...But the PQ is outstanding for a 1080p TV.

I would still rather a plasma with 720 than a 1080 lcd. Still regret changing to lcd. Hold out another year or 2 and get a oled would be my advice.

You can get Now TV with a chromecast for £20-30 so I wouldnt let that swing your decision.
