Hey

I know the BX was reviewed in the mag, but unfortunatly cant buy a mag right now, can anyone give me the low down on what was said?

How did it fare against the old BR range and is it simular to the RS range ect..

Thanks

The drivers are based on the RS series. The cabinets are vinyl wrap (not wood veneer like the RS), but now have rounded corners, and the drivers bolt to the back of the cabinet like every other MA speaker does. They won't sound the same as the Silver series because of the cabinets, but will be much closer to them than the BR's are.

Hi canada16

I believe the new Bronze BX speakers should hopefully start to appear in the shops in the coming week. You can then also see/hear the BX's for yourself.

I feel Monitor Audio are on to another winner the new BX speakers.

Thanks guys.

I am still leaning towards the RX range because of the wood vaneer, but its quite a bit of savings from the BX to the RX and that would mean I could get a VSX-LX52 amp to drive the BX range, and sell my VSX-819.

Probably going to have a demo next week or the week after that will give me 2 weeks to decide on the 2.

one thing ive noticed with my rx6s is how different they sound depending on where they are positioned , i think ive found the right place now as they sound better than ever , probably not so important for home cinema , but for stereo music , correct placement seems to be important , just thinking with the shape of your room canada , if you should demo first ??

Hi canada16

Your welcome.

If you are likely to keep the speakers for some time then i would say go for the Silver RX Series and compromise on the amp at the moment. The Silver RX's are likely to give you bigger return on your investment. It will also be easier looking/changing the amp later on.

Enjoy the demo and i look forward to views.
