Going back to my youth when all I could afford were the 99p sampler LPs from the various record labels, this is a rather good 3 x CD anthology..

... definitely of it's time most of it.

Listening to this one on Spotify as I've read that they are supporting Richard Thompson on his acoustic tour in October this year, so I thought I'd get a feel for what they are like....

.. very pleasant, I could see Macspur and Electro listening to this one.

I saw them live at Derby Folk Festival last year and they were superb. The first two albums are well worth seeking out as well. For me, JC&BW supporting RT is a fantastic combination. I've seen RT 3 times but can't wait to see him again.

I can't believe I've only just got into the Nimmo brothers, Alan and Stevie. Alan is the main man of the amazing King King blues band, whilst his elder brother Stevie is now ploughing a solo path. I've been listening to Stevie's two albums on Spotify and they are quite brilliant.

I saw Stevie Nimmo in Corby back in March. He and his band played a really good set. That's a fine album.

Where do you guy's find all this stuff...I thought I liked obscure stuff but you dudes are out there.lol. Oh and I'm aware of kexp being a great source for finding new stuff,Spotify also a good medium but it can throw up a lot of sh#t on the discover tab.

I find a lot on spotify discover but as you say there is a lot of dross to wade through but the more you search the better the algorithm gets at finding music that you might like .

There is no substitute for many hours of searching with an open mind and a real unending passion for alternative types of music .*smile*
