At work today I played:

Neu - Neu 75

Nick Drake - Five Leaves Left

And now I'm playing:

V/A - Psychedelia (Rare Blooms From The Summer Of Love)

A fantastic 60s/70s collection of rare gems. Some awesome stuff on it.

I have just got my NAD 533/Elektra back up and running after years of hibernation, I have just completed setting up the arm, tracking, alignment and Isolation etc. So plonking a bit of random vinyl on it in the 'I used to like this... I wonder......' kind of way, so here goes.

Damned-Damned Damned Damned
Gene Loves Jezebel-The House of Dolls
Paul Young-NoParlez
Curiosoty Killed the Cat-Get Ahead
Cocknet Rejects-Greatest Hits Vol 1
Fields of Nephilim-The Nephilim
LA Guns-Cocked and Loaded
Joe Strummer-Earthquake Weather
Madness-One Step Beyond
Everything But The Girl-Idlewild and Worldwide
Mary Coughlan-Uncertain Pleasures
Deacon Blue-Raintown

Most of my LPs are still in great condition and they sound great, however, since going digital, I really don't miss the clicks and stopping to turn the disc over. I hope that the sound of the vinyl drags me in and makes me happy once again.

Currently the NAD 533 outputs to a phono amp, into my Alesis IO4 (for a bit of extra gain and the headphone out is really clear etc) which outputs to my Linn Classik, which then outputs to a pair of Mission M70s (all right next to my home office desk - very nice)

Hi Mac You know me to well , it was one of my Sons albums he thought they sounded a bit like the white stripes and Queens of the Stone age .

It's nice when you can identify with your childrens music... occasionally my oldest son and I are able to recommend different albums.

Have you ever heard anything by a band called 3 Doors Down? if not, give them a whirl, you might like them.

A true classic. If you haven't seen the man live already, I strongly urge you to.

One of my security questions on some t'internet a/c is "What is your favourite colour scheme?"

3 Doors Down are a great band. The song Loser by them is one of my all time favourite songs. If you have never heard the band Daughtry I think you should as they sound a lot like 3 Doors Down.

I am listening to the album Rosenrot by metal gods Rammstein. If you're a metal fan and you don't have this album (or any Rammstein) in your music collection then shame on you as your really missing out.

Billy McKenzie's voice is simply wonderful. Party Fears Two sounds even better every time I listen to it (and that is a lot over the years). The more obscure album tracks really show us what he could do though.
