Alas, I can't find any pics, but today it's been.

Lights, Camera, Revolution! by Suicidal Tendencies
Piece of Time, by Atheist.

Well. Today they've stuck me in Catford exchange, and there's no radio here. So, I've just popped over the road to Currys and bought a Pure One Classic DAB/FM radio for £50.

So I'm listening to Absolute radio at present (there's more than one of us in here, so can't really crank the rock stations!)

The much under-rated Martin Stephenson & The Daintees - Gladsome, Humour & Blue.

Nothing quite like a CD-ripping project to re-acquaint yourself with the gems in your music collection.

Ripped my The The CDs last night..........just brilliant.

The new Guns N' Roses cd. Bought for my son for xmas so i thought i'd rip it to my mp3 first, and surprisingly, not as bad as i'd imagined it would be. Not sure it's worth the 10 years or so wait though.

Tear Drop:Andrew Everard:Because it means those interminable songs go on twice as long

How original, I've never seen musical snobbery on a hifi forum before...

And the Arctic Monkeys make want to go terminally deaf, dumb and blind.

The Moody Blues - December (cd)

Can't quite make my mind up about 'December'. I think some of it is really good but there is the odd moment where I think why, oh why, oh why???

Listening to KT Tunstall's 'Eye To The Telescope' here at the present moment. Good album.

A Tale of Two Cities (Mr Hudson & The Library)
All That You Can't Leave Behind (U2)
Franz Ferdinand (Franz Ferdinand)
In The Court Of The Crimson King (King Crimson)

...and 'The Broken Hearted Bride', the latest electric album by The Strawbs. Their best work for years, with the classic Hero & Heroine line-up back together and some superb songwriting from Dave Cousins and Dave Lambert to add to their fabulous back catalogue. I've seen the band several times, in both electric and acoustic forms, and they never disappoint. Brilliant.

The Moody Blues - December (cd)

Funny, it was once fashionable to loathe The Moody Blues but now critics have been re-appraising their early stuff to good acclaim. Just goes to show the fans are the right ones.

BTW, I love The Other Side Of Life album (yes I know 80s overkill etc etc), and I love Moraz 🙂, in addition to their Core 7 of-course.

Those early albums are incredible, particularly 'On The Threshold Of A Dream'. I saw the Moodies live the year before last and it was a night I'll never forget. Wonderful musicians and a great catalogue of brilliant song writing.

It is patchy though I have become fond of the album in recent years. Worth owning just for the track `December Snow`. Gorgeous song with a wonderful vocal by Justin Hayward. Very sad song but very lovely. This album originally came in a two cd set with a best of compilation in a slip case. Think it cost £12.99 which meant that the `December` album was more or less free.

The early albums are brilliant. Bought them all remastered a few years ago and they`ve recently been re-issued again as two cd sets I believe! Mmmnn...maybe just one or two in the New Year!

See you`ve been listening to King Crimson`s first album. That one`s in my top ten of all time.

Just quickly back to Christmas songs, see my next post for an underrated/virtually unknown Christmas track which features my all time favourite guitar solo by Tim Bricheno.

All About Eve - December (Narnia mix) (12" vinyl)

On another thread I stated that the superior `Narnia mix` was only available on the 10" and cassette single formats. This is untrue as it`s also on the 12". Not that anyone cares about that but I just thought I`d mention it! Still unavailable on cd despite a golden opportunity to include it on the `Keepsakes` collection which was duly missed.

Played rather loudly on my Project X-Pack through my Sennheiser headphones this was a truly wonderful Christmassy moment and I suspect that the rest of Christmas will seem rather disappointing in comparison.
