Three North American heavy metal bands, The Sword, Iwrestledabearonce and Wolfmother. All three are derivative of British Heavy Metal Bands who have been successful in the US; Black Sabbath, Ozzy, Deep Purple, Judas Priest etc, but still bring their own distinctive style to the genre.

That will be two North American and one Australian then! And from Belgium (I checked), though they do not sound it apart from some spoken French, dEUS. The album is called Worst Case Senario and the sound is raw like Cake with Becks ecclectic sounds, spoken passeges and song structures.

More Wolfmother, which was OK followed by Sweden's Witchcraft and their self titled album. It has a Tony Iommi distorted guitar sound accompanied by distorted vocals( that sound vaguely Iggy Pop) and a very bluesy heavy drum beat that echos Cream. But just like so much of the music I have been listening to recently, whilest the influences are obvious this is no copy-cat music and it has its own distinct sound.
