Never really bothered with this in the past but decided to give it a go. Used a Clearaudio brush with some fluid I got off ebay (isopropyl and de-ionised water) gave them a good clean then rinsed with distilled water.
I then put the records in the oven to dry using its plate rack and defrost mode (which is the fan just circulating air around - no heat involved) and left them for about an hour. All looked good when removed.
For some reason they now all crackle - a lot - the sound iitself is very good but every single one of them is crackling like mad.
Not sure where I went wrong, any tips?
...and I definitely do not own anywhere near enough records to consider an RCM
