Has any one purchased this sub or heard it in action, I am thinking of changing my system in October and this sub was recommended to me along with the B&W PV1.

It would be used for movies and Bluray music, I know it received 5 stars by WHF.

I used to have a PV1 its a beautiful sub, built like a tank but way overpriced in my view.

As always get a side by side demo of the models on your shortlist , in my opinion the PV1 is only suitable for a small room .

If your budget can stretch to it ,consider a SVS PB or PC 13 Ultra check the reviews on

Instead of upgrading every so often , losing money every time sometimes it is best to bite the bullet and spend a little extra

I was interested in Velodyne subwoofers when I was buying my AV kit, but my local Sevenoaks did not stock it. So no, I've never heard them.

I went for the Monitor Audio AW12 which is a brilliant subwoofer in every respect. Even B&W PV1 has received excellent reviews & it also sounds nice, but for me, I preferred the AW12 which sounded more authoritative and had that extra 'oomph'. I thought the PV1 was a little overpriced.

Other subwoofers which came highly recommended to me were SVS & BK. They're supposed to be very good and some audiophiles claim them to be the best available today for the price. The only problem was, I couldn't find any shop where I could audition them.

Thanks for the replies, I will look into the SVS subs.

The problem at the moment is that the sub will have to be behind the sofa firing along the length of the sofa, my current Definitive Technology sub is also rear ported and has been tricky to set up (10 yrs old now).

Could not have this at the front due to having a neighbour on that wall.
