Hi need some advice,I have a HDD in a enclosure that only uses USB,my lg smart TV has USB ports, also have a 3d blu-ray player which connects by HDMI but has USB ports, the films on my hdd are high def so my question is should I just plug into the USB on TV or plug into USB on blu-ray player and use its HDMI out? Which would give best sound and visuals?

Many thanks

Hard to say if we don't know which television and which blu-ray player you have. It depends on which has the best codecs, the best DACs, the best processor etc... I think it's easiest if you watch a clip on your television, then on your blu-ray and judge for yourself which is best.

Which is the newer device, the bluray or the TV? The newer one should have better codec support for playing back video.

You could always look up in the manual which device plays back the widest range of video types?
