Why can I not edit my initial post to rectify a spelling mistake using iPad mini?

From recollection of the old site you couldn't do that then either, so I don't think this is new behaviour. The fact (if I'm right obviously) that this has carried over across different forum software would suggest it's a deliberate decision, rather than a bug of some sort.
