Great reviews last month of the current crop of 46/47",and it was good to see the Phillips included, but what happened to your last years award winning Samsung as it would have been good to see how this stacks up against the newer items. As with all things new, there is normally price issue to be included ( as well as the wife saying " Were NOT spending 2 Grand on a new Telly"!!) So Question 1. is the Sony KDL46EX503 up there with the Samsung on picture quality or have things moved on significantly since then? Question 2. Any opinions on the KDL467EX703 v the 503? Now my last question, is there any way without having my AV Amp on, of connecting external speakers to any of these tv's as poor sound often seems to be a feature of most flat screens?

I can answer the last question. You can connect PC speakers via the headphone jack. Or you can get Q-TV.

In note of your last question. Already amped speakers would work? but as the person above me said just go for the Q-TV. It's a good performer.
