True HD sound and PS3

I notice that the Onkyo 506 doesn't support true HD sound but that the PS3 does. Does this mean that when connected to a PS3 which has already decoded the true hd and outputing by PCM via hdmi, the Onkyo simply takes this input signal via hdmi (already decoded) and output true hd surround??

No, as the 506 doesn't support LPCM over HDMI - you'll need to downconvert and feed audio in over standard S/PDIF digital, or buy the TX-SR576 instead
