To Bi-amp or bi-wire??

I have a Sony STR-DA2400es AV amp,which I have bi-wired to my Acoustic Energy 109's(front speakers).My friend Mike has now bought the same amp,but has bi-amped it up to his Mission(front) speakers.What would ultimately provide the best sound? To me,both sets of frequencies would be best provided for by bi-wiring to the front speaker connections,not the surround back outputs that he has used (and the instruction manual recommends)!! Am I missing something here?

Bi-amping should be better than bi-wiring.

That said, on the integrated av amps ive tried, bi-amping has been dubious at best

I have tried it both ways and think your way is better. Mine is currently bi'wired on the front 3 speakers. made a lot of difference when listening in stereo and I only use QED 79 strand
