Hi, I'm a b it of a newbie and have got myself all confused about cables.

Just bought a new Home Cinema package (Kef 3005SE with Denon 2310 amp, Sky HD Box, Blue Ray player to follow) and I want to make the right decision about speaker cables. I've read around everywhere and now I'm very confused. I have a good sub cable, so it's the cables for the satellites that I need to get right. Retailer says that Chord Leyline will be fine, and as the price is good I'm tempted. However, all the product reviews here point towards better cables making a real difference, for example Chord Silverscreen or QED Silver Anniversary. Is it worth spending the extra? Will I notice the difference? Any independant advice would be most welcome.

Theres 4 groups just to confuse you ~

Those that say they do (I do)

Those that say that they cant

Those that say they dont

Those sitting on the fence

Personally id recommend buying something cheapish, then if you ever get the 'hifi bug' you can try upgrading and see what you think

For now just try to set everything up as best you can (Especially try to get the speakers sat as solid as possible. Maybe put blutack under them)

Workphil I have the same receiver and speakers. Just remember if you have any of the satellites on the Kef speaker stands the Chord Silverscreen cables will not fit through poles on the stands. A mistake I have already made
