Fair enough. I know there's the disc-by-post option, which makes most sense.

I had a quick browse to see what's available, and the selection is quite broad. A couple of films I've mentioned before are available by post:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Decasia-The-State-Of-Decay/dp/B00ERVT5EU/ref=sr_1_1?s=video-rental&ie=UTF8&qid=1400676406&sr=1-1&keywords=decasia

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Head-On/dp/B00ERVQAVG/ref=sr_1_1?s=video-rental&ie=UTF8&qid=1400676432&sr=1-1&keywords=head+on

I think you'd appreciate the first and love the second.

Ooh, personalised recommendations, fantastic! Both added to the list, thanks for the suggestions. I'll be sure to post whenever I see them.

Yes, the range is broad. Other than a delay in some new releases I'm not really aware of anything you can buy with relative ease that isn't available to rent.

I'd rather it was £10 or less! As Mike says I probably have to wait for a decent second hand copy.

I sold my copy for £9 including postage, you should have said. :)

Any thoughts on The Trial BBB?

I need to watch the whole film, as I've left it too long to try and watch just the end.

Not Studio Canal, but in your price range.

Roughly 10 euros with post, if you can manage with DVD. That's what I did.

Just found the Amazon email

£1.65 + £2.79 postage for the second hand DVD.

So keep your eyes peeled, there are bargains out there. :)

Edit For instance:

I can't remember exactly why now but I'd rejected that edition. I'm guessing I read that the quality is meant to be worse.

Hmmm, wasn't the rule that a member not watching the film within the allotted month gets kicked out?!

A little reminder to all members.

Don't forget about Lives Of Others.

And to Mike.

It's just about time for you to nominate your 3 film choices.

I think we'll all be in trouble this month then. :)

At least you will have the benefit of all the discussion that has taken place so far, to give you pointers for elements of the film to look out for.

I have to be honest that I found the film completely unfathomable and unenjoyable when I watched it. It is only now that I have done some research into Kafkas book, and read what Ben has discussed, that I feel twinges of enthusiasm to watch it again (or at least google if there are any interviews where Welles explained his version of the film). Only twinges, but not enough to persuade me to buy the Bluray. :)

Good grief, that's come around quickly. It might take me a week or two to think about this, and do the job properly.

Yeah, but film club mirrors broader society. It's one set of rules for those in power, and another for the plebs.

Less barracking please. Remember that you were a member of the Central Committee, but chose exile to the Intelligentsia.

You'd moved up the list a place ot two.

You have until the end of the month, so start the thinking process. :)

You wish!

3 sequels, and still nothing EDITED happens!

There were at least two prequels:

The men who stare at goats http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1234548/

and

Goats http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1577052/

Makes me wonder if I could find three films to nominate that contain goats in the title?

As Monty Python said "Stop this, you are being too silly. :)

I'm hoping for 3 films without goats in the title (or the actual film), and that I've never seen before.

Any chance? :)
