Teac DR-H300DAB problems

I've had one of these for a few months, but only recently started using the DVD player in anger.

Playing disks (viewed either via scart or HDMI), I'm finding the screen breaking up for a couple of seconds during the film such that the left side of the picture has horizontal lines in it.

I admit that most of the DVDs I've tried so far are back-up copies, but I'm suffering the same on the originals also. My Sony DVD recorder plays all of them no problem.

I've seen mention on other forums (which I can't find at the moment - typical) of playback problems on the Teac, and I'm wondering if what I'm seeing is unusual or not. I'm going to try and sit down with an armful of original DVDs and see how I get on this week.

I've had one for about 6 months and I've had loads of problems with it. I've not had the problems you've mentioned. Mine keeps freezing after anything from 3 seconds to 24 seconds after I start playing a disc.

When it freezes I can't get any response from the buttons so I have to turn it off completely and start again. Usually after turning it on it plays OK.

I've sent it back twice already and have just received it back again from the retailer. I tried to play something over the weekend and it froze again!!!!

I'm going to try it again with loads of discs this week and see what happens. I suspect it will be going back again.
