Squash Balls

Since it's a sunday and i'm slightly bored:

It's often said/suggested that squash balls (with or with out chopping boards) are good cheap isolation options.

Has any one experimented with the different squash ball types? eg. blue beginner ones versus single and double yellow dot?

I have had my Naim 5i on chopping board/blue squash balls for some time and have never heard any difference, I would think it is more plausible to test them on cd and dvd players. The differences between squash balls though will probably be too minute even with the most precise player.

I was a little bored also (working from home and not much going on) so I played the whole of the ChangesBowie double album (1990 Ryko direct metal mastered, clear vinyl) and ordered some new high quality antistatic, poly lined, record sleeves.

Squash balls and massive platforms? To what end? Sounds too squidgy. Good way to store energy in the system rather than dissipate it quickly.
