Hi, i am currently looking for new speakers, narrowed down to S5e & S6e as they seem a good deal now.

I have auditioned both at my dealer's with Sudgen A21. The S5e sounded open and smooth, very neutral and sweet overall.

S6e was fuller in the mids and sounds warmer to me. Both have the Spendor qualities that i like and prefer. Thing is, on my

MF A3.2 amp, will they sound different by much? Also which speaker will be a better match for my amp? Thanks!

I listen to vocals, jazz, guitars sourced by CA640v2.

If it is at all possible, get down to that same dealer with both your source and your amp. Their listening facililties aren't likely to be a match for yours, but may be close enough to get the idea. Most dealers are perfectly amenable to you hauling your own kit along for a demo. Give it a go, preferably with your own cables too.

Of course, the other option is to ask if they are happy to let you do home demos - most likely they will take a swipe of your card but cancel the transaction if you return the goods within an agreed period and in original condition.

Thanks ESP, i'd do that if i had to. But i hope to decide base on S5e vs S6e's sound qualities generally on my MF amp.

I was just wondering if you had resolved your speaker issue as I have the same amp and was looking at exactly the same speakers. If you have not I am thinking of getting an s6e and my friend who lives opposite me is getting an S5e so I will be able to do some comparisons. However if you have already got the speaker please update me on its performance please
