I need to reterminate my speaker wires for my regas. Had a play with some other copper based wires but found them to bassy, so have decided to go back to my original QED Silver anv bi-wire cable.

Had to cut down, and used most of surplus cable on home cinema setup.

Got sevenoaks to terminate them originals with some QED banana plugs, which was fine but wasnt to impressed with the plugs, for £3 each. I dont think they where QED ones, they where plain red/black rubbish ones, not like the shinny QED ones you see on the internet.

Can anyone suggest some good quality banana plugs for me to buy, as i will reterminate myself. Like the look of some peoples fancy plugs on the "my system" part of this forum but dont have any experiance/knowledge about them!

thanks, dave

Look nice.

How did the home mains cable go?

I am not in any way connected to this seller

Thanks for post so far, ill investigate.

True blue, first i made some runs of speaker wires from the SY mains cable i obtained. I used ferrel magnets at the amp end, didnt like the sound, it was a lot, lot bassier, even a bit uncontrolled. This was only a few days ago, so at the min going to go back and use the qed siver anv wire for speakers if i can get some good ( better ) BP on them.

Not tried the new cable for mains yet.

I ordered a supra 2.5 mains powercord, got it today, going to try tommorow once got system setup again, ill post results from this cable tommorow.

Very impressed with the look of the cable, big and chunky with a wattgate on, says made in sweden down it.

My new powercords i would make would be for my 2 amps if i go ahead and do it.

Didnt know whether or not to try and pick up a tacima mains conditioner tommorow, all ive got is a russ andrews supercube, which was just for cd player powercord to plug into.

so much happening, need to look at the banana plug situation first tho.

Keep us informed on the Supra. As I understand, it's a DIY kit without soldering, right?

Why don't you just use bare wire for the speakers? They sound better to me, anyways.

will do, not had a proper look at it yet, the actual cable is really thick, ill let you know if i hear any difference (honestly).

The doctor from london i bought my cd player from (first owner), e-mailed me and suggested a mains powercord upgrade for the player, as he wanted to keep his cable, not that i can remember what he used.

ill post back...

looks just as this..

I can't believe QED is still so highly rated, it's horrific. Lose it, get any Chord cable = win.

yove got to bear in mind that the copper cable i used for my speakers, was a sy main cable, was just trying it. I think im happy enougth with the qed silver one for now to reuse+terminate.

i am in the middle of decorating living room at the mo = chaos.....

supra mains powercord opinion in "accessories" tommorow nite.
