Hi folks. On the hunt for some speaker stands and looking around it seems that most of them are at around 60 cm in height. I would prefer them higher though at around 1m and can only find the PMC tube104 stands which are at this height and these retail at 300 GBP ish! Given that the supposed correct height is ears around top of cabinet enclosure/ tweeter level anyone know why the differences between the PMC and other stands?? (Maybe those who buy PMC stands are on average 40cm taller than those who don't?? ;-) ) thanks

The PMC ones were tested and optimised with PMC speakers. The 1m height is what was found to be optimal for listening to the PMC standmount speakers.

On the grounds of sorting out the height boost you would need, possibly some marble platforms under some stands. But given the price of such slabs it may work out cheaper to go for the PMCs afterall.
