Sony LCD screens

Does anyone know, is it true that LG supply sony with the same screens or put it this way do LG and SONY use the same screens ? thanks.

No, Sony currenlty sources LCD panels from Samsung. However, in 2010 it will shift to Sharp. See http://www.forbes.com/2008/02/26/sony-sharp-lcd-markets-equity-cx_jc_0226markets08.html for info.

Sony and Sharp have recently announced they're delaying this joint venture for a year.

Sharing screens with other brands is quite normal and does NOT mean that a Samsung is the same as a Sony but cheaper. Far more important things such as the quality of processing have a huge impact on the finished product. The Bravia Engine is what makes the Sony LCDs what they are and that technology isn't used by anybody else.

To put it into perspective, Loewe and B&O both use screens from cheaper brands too, and Pioneer's LCDs use Sharp screens.

I was just curious because someone i know told me, i was unsure and just wanted the defifnitive answer from you guys, im considering getting the sony 46w4500 or the pana pz85 or the pz81 although i have a humax foxsathd so not sure if its worth the extra money any suggestions ?

Do you know who makes screens for philips ?

So LG own philips ? or is it just the screens they make for philips? or is it all the other stuff that make up philips tvs ?
