Sony BDP-S570 output to Onkyo 875 AV amp but no TrueHD display

I just bought the Sony BDP-S570 and connected to my Onkyo 875 via HDMI. I tried 2 BD discs namely Sex and the City Ext. Director's Cut and The Matrix. Display on the 875 shows "MultiCh"!! I tried both options available on the Sony's audio settings (either "Auto" or "PCM") but no change in the amp's display. However the display on the Sony acknowledges the tracks as True HD. Am I missing an obvious step or is this due to BD discs I tried or a faulty Amp? Your views would be much appreciated. Cheers from a scorching Istanbul (38C + 96% Hum = 50+ C !!)

Your Sony BDP-S570 should read 'Auto' in the sound settings while in your amp, ensure that the HDMI Audio Out (7. Hardware Setup) is set to OFF.

Thanks Ronald, I will try that. Õ remember last night that HDMI Audio Out (on the Amp)was NOT set to OFF.

That should solve the issue. I remember having the same problem when I replaced my 606 with the 875.

I had the same problem when I got my BDP S470. Page 20 of manual: Set BD Audio MIX Setting to "OFF"

Thanks for the advice as it worked. The actual page number in the manual is 23 .

I haven't had a chance to try Ronald's suggestion but I guess no need now...

If the display now reads DTS-HD MSTR or TRU-HD, then you're all set to go.
