i want to buy a Sony BDP-S185 for my bedroom as all my films are now on blu ray.

my problem is my tv is an old crt.
i do not want to upgrade the tv due to the viewing angle of the lcd tv makes the picture patchy ie darker at top due to me looking up at the picture.

so the composite connections on the sony is it possible to put this in a scart block and connect it to my tv and playback the films and stuff from my usb drive.

obviously i know it wont be at 1080p but will it downscale the blu ray for my tv

You will need to connect your composite video (yellow connection) and the red&white RCA (left & right audio) from the back of the BR player to a scart adapter that has these connections on the rear and a scart on the front, something like this (hope this works): http://www.google.co.uk/products/catalog?q=scart+to+video+and+stereo+rca&oe=UTF-8&hl=en&client=safari&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=shop&cid=151349037702975914&sa=X&ei=11W0TpKLLpDD8QPU--DfBA&ved=0CEsQ8gIwBQ
