sky+ hd system fault

My sky box hd can't do recording, rewinding and fast forwarding after a software update from sky. Anybody has the same issue? Or is it just mine? What has gone wrong? cheers :(

The power supply on those boxes can be fickle as they age, giving all sorts of problems - as happened mine.

Daveh 75 will probably be along to shed more light.

You haven't installed a new HDD?? Lol.

An update from SKY wouldn't normally cause these errors. How do you know you've had an update? What was the update?

You haven't had an earlier problem and called SKY CS who have talked you through a system reset etc.? This would delete all information on your HDD. It warns you of such when you attempt this.

Got it sorted from another forum.

My hard drive has stopped working. It just needed re-formatting. To do this...Power out, hold left and right arrows on top of box and re-insert power. keep fingers down until centre light flashes up blue, then press select. the lights should rotate backwards. This will delete all recordings unfortunately. Saves me £65 call-out charge from a sky engineer. :)
