If you want to become DIY cartridge fitter then something else to add to your list would be a test record of some kind. When I started out again 10 years ago I bought the HiFi News test record and it has easily paid for itself over the years.

I've always lusted after a Michell Gyrodeck, fabulous looking things. Not the SE though, I want to see those brass weights 🙂 Unfortunately my big spending days are over 🙁

You can still see the weights with the SE version, it's the Orbe that you cannot.
