Samsung PS42Q97HDX or Panasonic TH42PX70

I have finally whittled my choice of display down to these two fine looking specimens. I can get the Samsung delivered on a Saturday from Co Op Electricals for just over £700.

I have read many reviews on both these TV's from other sources too.

But I just can't make up my mind which one to go for.

My TV diet for years to come will be plain and simple SKY Standard Definition and I will also use one of these beauties with an Upscaling DVD Player such as a Panasonic SV53 or Samsung HD870.

Given my dilemma but more importantly taking into consideration what I intend to watch for quite a few years-What to go for?

PS: Oh, and either will be wall mounted via a fixed Omnimount Wall Bracket and used in conjuction with my stereo XX Exposure Amplifier of some 10 years old, but wonderful sound and accompanying Monitor Audio Speakers as not really worried about 5.1 systems at present.

I'd pick the Pana. Re DVD players, that Samsung's tested in our new issue, out by Thursday.

Thank you Clare-Yep think I will opt for the Panasonic..............Looking forward to the new issue of the Mag out in the next few days. Should then be able to decide as to what DVD player to go for. Thanks again
