Hi. I'd like to rip the audio tracks from some music dvds I've got - to then listen to on my home hifi.

So wondered how to get the best audio quality?

Either cable from my dvd player to my pc and record using Audacity or similar?

or insert the dvd into my pc drive and use a software programme to rip directly to a flac?

Any experiences / advice would be much appreciated.

Ripping directly into an audio file has to be the best way for sound quality (and the easiest). I came across this guide to doing it on a Mac (haven't got round to doing it yet), I'm sure if you googled it you'd find something similar for a PC.

Thanks for this - I've downloaded Dvd audio extractor on a months free trial - and the Flacs its produced sounds really good - cheers.

But if anyone could point me towards any free pc software - that would be much appreciated..
