Hello folks. This is my first message. First I'd like to apologise as my main language ain't English.

I am using NAD c352 and Dali Zensor 3 + many auxillary equipment centered on the Z3.

While I think as Z3s deserve much more, will Elicit-R be an overkill?

PS: I know this is not a fair comparison. But my question is critical as I have found one (50 hours of usage) for ~1170gbp and I want to climb the ladder up 🙂

It probably is overkill but could be a good investment if you intend to upgrade your speakers in the future. I would say £1170 is not that much of a bargain, it's what, £1500 brand new? Maybe upgrade your speakers first, you'll get more obvious improvement this way. In time then upgrade your amp to suit your upgraded speakers.

Personally I don't really see the Rega as an upgrade. Rega specs are vague at best, what is actually better about it apart from a higher price tag?

I think a speaker upgrade would be by far a better investment.

If you want to climb the Hifi Ladder, you can get the amp first and sort the speakers later...or vice versa.

FWIW. I prefer cheaper speakers maximised with an expensive amp, than the other way round.

FWIW. I like the synergy of the Rega with Kef R Series/LS50s....but there are many other speakers out there, like Spendor, Harbeth, Rega, Q Acoustics, Vienna Acoustics and Diapason.

There are also decent amps from Hegel, Abrahamsen, Creek, Arcam, Peachtree and Electrocompaniet.
