A question from my friend?

At the moment my friend is using a RA classic cord for his amp (pioneer vsx lx60) he was wandering if it would be worth the upgrade to the RA reference powercord (espec with it being in the RA sale) that he would use for his amp and then hed use the classic for his CDP (at the min hes using a yello powercord for CDP) but WHSAV have said that if you have components up to 2000quid then the reference would be a good buy however his amp was just under a grand.

Would it be worth the upgrade?

No in a word the difference would be, if any nothing you could see, the lead you have already is a good cable, why pay more hoping the extra outlay will give you an even better picture than you already have. imo

Yes i must admit that i can't see it making much difference going from the classic to the reference as you say the classic is already a fine cable especially with components up to a grand or more. I said to him if you want better then change your amp or CDP as im sure the reference powercord is'nt going to turn your amp into something it is not.

I got a far better improvement changing the power cable on my CDP than on my amps. Not much help I know, but they were my findings.

I'm sure your right Joel, i hav'nt tried various powercords to my amp so i can't really comment however, i certainly noticed improvements when i added a specialist mains cable to my CDP.
