Wired transfers are faster than wireless transfers. I didn't have 1TB data so can't comment on the timescale.

PH, Copy and paste, from external HDD to Diskstation.......

It has been running over 24 hrs so far and managed approx. 200GB. Hence my approximation at 5 days to do the lot.

Yes, it will depend how the external HD is connected - is it connected into your PC and then copying over wireless network? Or across wired network? Or have you plugged the HD directly into the NAS - I'd imagine this would be the quickest method - probably about a day or two to copy that much data via USB I'd estimate. If you're copying over the wireless network and via a PC, it would take much longer.

On the other hand, it's running and, if you're not really in a hurry, I'd just leave it going rather than messing around with it and potentially having to start again!
