Does anybody else have problems when recording programmes on sky+. On certain channels the picture keeps jumping and breaking up. If this is a common problem how would you go about resolving this, it is a real pain. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Have you checked your signal strength and quality? It's under Services, System Setup I think (somewhere like that, have a look around), if they're too low you'll have problems, this could be due a faulty LNB or bad cabling, dish out of alignment, you name it...

not necessarily, it happens alot on sky one, a bit peeved when i sky plussed the first 3 stargates but couldnt watch them, it also happens on E channel when the missus records some of her rubbish(not a problem then). I have been through services but i wasnt sure what i was looking for but nothing really needed changing i think?

Signal quality is more important than sheer strength. I have repaired a few SKY+ boxes where a failing power supply manifested as some channels misbehaving. Always check the connector, LNB and obvious stuff first. Borrowing a friends set is a good idea to eliminate suspected faults.

Now you know how the "free" sky box is financed

. Try calling them to cancel as it no longer works, might get a reduced call out rate at the very least
