Sorry dude that a cross wire both ways.
Can here its clouding the sound even in that vid.

Its a psychological battle - do you have the speakers more direct at you for the benefit of it or a like I have now for a wider soundstage and more breathing space in between. Hard in a narrow room, really hard no space. Got 2 big subs going hard so there is bass.

Dont expect a miracle over a recording but must be able to get better than this without spending much money.

Cheers for the help.

Must get some sleep but I'll break my head over it tomorrow. I'm sure Vlad will come up with a decent solution too. With a system like yours ... you need to show off!

Perhaps you can get your hands on a used Roland R 09 or similar.

That looks ideal in design. Need try and make work alongside video recording in easy way? Surely if edit it together with video post production will be like cheating. All of a sudden sounds like wilson xlfs lol

Record on this and overlay track in windows movie maker. Mute the crap from the camera. Simple. This is what yt reviewers use.

You think that over a shotgun type mic?

Its cheaper which is better but more post production work. If movie maker is easy to time align then great? Cheers for the help

This is what yt reviewers use for both speakers and headphones. Works great, simplifies everything. ******* arround with drivers, latency, multiple takes on a laptop etc. is just annoying.

Movie maker because its simple and time alignment isn't critical to the tenth of a second. You show video simply for eye candy. Ppl hate static wallpaper + audio. And its good to say something as intro. A sentence at least.**** around all you want on yt. You set your own standards.

Thats good but the DR-40 isn't that much more expensive.

You think dr40 worth the extra just for this??
Its likely going to cost double even used. I will need to buy another tripod and mem card on top.
I have been looking for comparison to the 22 but struggling.

Thanks for the help vlad sorry steer thread off topic

Original Jimmy sax

Astonishing how accurate the midrange is on those KEFs (before mic breakup).

I think I the know reason for the differences in my videos
I disabled the wind noise reduction feature on the camera for the Vanessa Fernandez video hence the external noise but better bass pickup. I didnt know but that is back enabled so it must turn that on auto for all videos when you power on and off.

I am going to try again today with that off and see but its not going to cut it, still going to get a proper recorder as you suggest. They seem superb and a bit of fun which is what its all about.

Just realised I have quoted the wrong post from you vlad doh!

This is the exact same Jimmy Sax - volume etc is the same, camera slightly more on ear level but this is with my camera with the wind noise reduction turned off. I think sounds a bit rough compared to the last one but the bottom end seems picked up - like mic is saturated at times? No good.

Can you please let me know what you think? Is it good enough or still need a proper recorder? Think know the answer any way obvious really isnt it

Thanks

Yes the bottom end is better but when he lets go it compresses and goes to a blob in the centre a bit.

I played the same track direct from youtube on my system and err well there is no comparison ( no criticism *smile* ) but I am sure a dedicated recording device should make a massive difference.

There is some serious energy in that video especially in the bass and the sax is as clean as a whistle and the overall sound is huge and very powerful, it is going to be hard to capture it fully.

Better, but it all still sounds like 64kbps radio stream.

And get the smaller cheaper recorder. It does .wav at 16/44, accepts 4GB memory card max, but for your needs should be fine. Bigger one does 24/96 and 32GB cards.
