Ok. Well myself and others have already suggested you get an equaliser yet you continue to be stroppy about it.

You want/need an equaliser.

So get an equaliser.

Yes, I was asking about equalizing options. Software.... Automated.... etc.

So far I have received two posts in four pages about actual equalization, one being from you, which I thank you for.

What I don't need is "burn your sub" "move house" "buy a new amp" "headphones blah blah".

If nobody has any advice on how to equalize a hi-fi, then kindly refrain from commenting, and I'll stop getting snotty and possibly reach a conclusion about how to do this.

don't think i mentioned any of those - i love subs, nothing up with your setup in terms of quality but think you can improve positioning of your set up

also itunes offers plenty of equalisation options and if you can't sort with those no ofboard equalizer will help

Okay stop.

OK, fine. Despite all the advice you know better. Now go buy an equalizer such as those you have been pointed to, and quit your whining.

Sorry, was that a bit blunt?

Do you have any recommendations on which equalizer/software? No?

Then hush it.

matengawhat:yeah itunes as stated does it all - lose the attitude! signing off this thread

Itunes doesn't do it all, or I wouldn't be here.

So simple to buy a mixer with 3 band equalizer that works wonders.but I just loive the way you guys like to complicate

Not what you want to hear possibly, but adding an equaliser is likely to hang a thick veil over the music generally - another bit of kit, adding some degradation to the sound. The parametric equaliser was historically touted as the preferred solution to avoid this, but look at the respondents you have - pretty well nobody is using an equaliser and all have posted reasonable suggestions that you could investigate to try and solve your problem....

matengawhat:

see i would say your speakers were bass light and didn't offer a full frequency range and you would be amazed at the amount your missing!

I'm old now, and my ears are old, so will not argue with you as regards the bass on my speakers ... but if I did say what I really wanted to, I'd be posting tommorow on the forum begging to be 'deleted'

oooh, this is getting tasty. you won't find many here with experience of room eq. you might be better on a specific acoustics or recording forum.

this may give food for thought http://www.meridian-audio.cz/room-correction.pdf (sorry, can't use link in safari). the early part lists some potential pitfalls of using an equaliser, and might be why not many use them. good luck.

Dude, you want to take a chill-pill.

In itunes, set the equaliser to manual then decrease both the 64 and 125 sliders.

That will take down the entire region that you're having a problem with. This will quickly and crudly tell you if room-correction is going to work. If it doesn't have an effect, then there

I do have some experience in this area ;-)

And on a lighter note, the album is growing on me

Don't forget to be rude. It's clearly the best way to get answers.

Hmmm...could be fun.
