Pioneer 4280XD Best Setup

Finally got it! I am now the proud owner of a Pioneer PDP4280XD. I have gone through the THX optimiser setup and pictures are superb, even regular DVD looks outstanding.

Does anyone know where I can find settings that other people have used to get every last drop of picture quality out of this screen. I thought there was a guide somewhere where someone had calibrated it to get D65 results.

Do a quick google search for 'Pioneer 8G Owners' Thread'. At the top of the search results, you should find a link to a thread on another forum. At the bottom of the first post of that thread, you will find a load of downloadable text files to give you the best settings for different sources. Best of luck to you and enjoy.

Using those settings, although colour balance/contrast was fantastic, I did find that the picture was a bit 'soft' for my taste. ÿI adjusted sharpness back to 0 from -15 and in Picture Detail chose 'low' for DRE and '1' in Enhancer Mode. ÿIf you have Sky HD, most folk select Pure Cinema 'off' and Drive Mode 2.
