When turned on the tray will not open or close, but the HMI display registers open/close commands when you press the button.

I've performed the multimeter diagnostic test on the power board and it passed.

I've performed the Electrical Services Test by pressing <PLAY> + <FWD> and it gets stuck half way through saying 'TRAY ERROR'.

I've performed the Mechanical Services Test, but it again gets stuck and continuously says 'BUSY'. When i prompt a tray test it seems to think the tray has opened and displays 'OPENED' then 'CLOSE' when pressed again, and back to 'BUSY'. Sledge test is unresponsive. Focus test is unresponsive.

Any ideas?

Does it employ a little rubber belt that is broken?

No, rack and pinion. No V-out to motor either. It looks like a CDR main board failure to me, i haven't tested the display board, but every button is functional as is the display.

Gives the impression that the control circuit is working correctly (and presumably this is detected during the tests), but no V-out is received by the motor, and so the drawer will not open/shut (and this failure to open/shut is detected during another test, as a 'failure').

Can you see any failed components on the CDR main board (eg bulging or split capacitors)? Maybe there is a hairline crack on the motherboard, which is affecting the V-out track, or alternatively a dry joint has occurred.
