Hi all,

Bit of a novice here.....sorry!

I am thinking of changing my Marantz Sr4200 cinema amp to the above. I have slight dilema. My Marantz amp has preouts which I use the front ones to connect to my Rotel pre-amp to drive my front speakers.

My Question is.......Can I use the 'Zone 2' output on the Onkyo to connect to my rotel? When watching a dvd will I still get the sound through my front speakers?

Hope I'm making sense?

Thanks for any help!

Yes, you can, but you'll get stereo on the Zone 2 output, not the front left and right channels of the 5.1 set-up. And you'll have to juggle two volume controls.

So I won't get proper 5.1 sound??? Sorry if I sound thick

Andrew Everard:Correct.

Thanks Andrew. I'll need an amp with preouts then? Most of those amps like the Sony STR-DA2400ES won't fit in my rack due to the depth!..............******!

Thanks again!
