Onkyo TX-SR806....

Hi all.

I have some MS Alumni arriving soon.. (or least that's what they keep telling me!) Any how I was initially going to pair with a Yam AX763 or 863. But sadly no one has them in and may not til April. By the way were talking them Selling 'em for £299-£350 and £499.

Any how I have been now looking at the Onkyo 806 (£499) although have been put off a bit bit the whole blue dots issue. From what I can tell some newer producion models have not got the issue but won't know if you've got a good one till you've bought it. Any one had one and suffered the issue and currently had it rectified (apparenlty you get the HDMI board change by a company called Genserve). Was it all painless, take a long time and did it cost (even for shipping).

You advice is appreciated.

Not got one, but have been researching the 806 recently.

Your correct with Genserve, and as far as I have read, you call them up, they collect and then return in about two weeks. (All FOC, under warranty)

This is what I have read in forums recently, so don't quote me, or shoot me

if this is not the case.....

When the display went on my 875, I contacted Genserve, who sent a courier that very afternoon. Got it back about 10 days later working as good as new. Couldn't fault the service.

Thanks for the replies. Two weeks outage ain't so bad - speakers been on order 6!

May have a wonder to richersounds tomorrow and give one a demo.
