Anyone have any suggestions? Looking for a disc which has good visuals as well as a brilliant 5.1 DTS/Dolby Digital sound track. The only other requirement is that it has a good storyline (obviously)!

I've seen (BD):

James Bond (Casino Royale)
Cloverfield
Hulk (latest one)
Transformers
and World Trade Center

Fire away !

try black hawk down. soundtack is awesome and you cant go wrong with ridley scott

I've just ordered 'Troy' off Play.com for a tenner.

Apparently it has a 7.1 soundtrack and the transfer is meant to be really good.

Won't get it for a couple of days though.

Try Rambo, or Apocalypto, or Cars, Yes Cars get Cars, it's fab! I agree on Black Hawk Down too. Oh, I don't know. Just get what you like. No, hang on, get Cars. Or Ratatouille. Doh!!!!!

Just realised you wanted a good storyline, so that's Rambo out. It's good though.

THANK YOU for all suggestions - I've seen Cars on DVD, wicked film! Not sure if I can justify buying it again on BD =P

I thought it sucked on all counts........But others have said it's great, so I guess it's just me or my TV.

Master and commander pretty good also 3.10 to Yuma and Darkcity as a trilogy Spiderman worth getting or No country for old men.

Blunny, what floats your boat?..........

Of the ones i have , i cant recommend these highly enough....here goes...No Country for Old Men, 3:10 to Yuma, There Will Be Blood, Oldboy, Wall:E, Ratatouille, Apocalypto, Hellboy, Iron Man, Kill Bill 1&2, Pans Labynrith,The Dark Knight........................ there should be something in there for you

Theres lots of 3 for 2, 2 for 25 etc, etc around...............so happy hunting

Big Chris:Sorry.....Forgot to say 'The Dark Knight'. Picture is sublime, sound is crushing.........

And it's very, very long, so in terms of pence per minute it's a steal, too.

Definitely not Liverpool, Mr Torres =P!

I like action films - for example Crank, James Bond etc. also Comedy films like Hot Fuzz and 50 First Dates etc. (which it's pretty impossible to get a great soundtrack in the Comedy genre).

Out of the films you mentioned what do you reckon will suit my tastes? An action film is tonight's flavour...

Thanks Torres

The Dark Knight or Iron Man I would say...

iron man is awesome on bluray cant comment on hd audio but the dd was good. saw the the dark knight at the cinema, haven't seen it on bluray though. mummy 3 was a let down despite having jet li and michelle yeoh in it. superbad is possibly the funniest film i have ever seen but i guess you want sort of an action film to appreciate the audio more, and some stunning visuals.
forbidden kingdom was ok and hancock was pretty good too!

Ended up going for The Dark Knight, off to watch it now!

Thank you for your suggestions, looking forward to it!

If you can deal with subtitles, my learned team mate has picked two of my favourites. Pan's Labyrinth is stunning and just a brilliant film. Oldboy is probably the most terrifying film I've seen - absolutely shocking. I will buy No Country For Old Men soon. Although I've got it on dvd, it's so good - I'm a massive Coen Brothers fan and it's up there with Fargo.

I've gone on about Ratatouille on here before - just superb. As is Ice Age 2. Check out Big Fish also.

Thank you for your suggestions, looking forward to it!I do believe that since ive owned a bluray player that The Dark Knight is probably my favourite disc for both PQ&SQ it is one hell of a home cinema experience, even if you dont like the movie (as i thought it were just a tad long) it should still manage to allow you to witness exactly what bluray is all about ! Excellent stuff !!
