ive been looking at the various reccomended settings for certain tvs on the web recently , and they all have one thing in common , they all suggest turning of dnr , turning off black enhancers , dynamic contrast , intelligent frame creation , the list goes on , the various 100hz modes are the only thing thats reccomended to be turned on ( i.f.c. aside ) ..

whats the point of having those options if they are not used ?? is there any need for them at all ?? and if so , when ?? with what source ?? sd , im confused ...

The reason is simply that noise/mpeg reductions are there for freeview and other sd transmissons,People still use vhs as well,so playing around with the setting can work.I turn all mine off when watching blu-ray/games playing/sky hd.sd i will use lower settings, but will be based on viewer distances.so play around with the settings and have fun.
