I am looking to buy a turntable with an amp (built in or not) and looking for advice on whats available. It will be bought as a present for someone with no particular expertise in this area however I would want it to be good quality. I do need a quality item, however I am on a budget. Please share any information on where would be the best place to buy and what brand/type of turntable and amp I should be looking at, cheapest options first. Thanks.

Welcome, Catherine. This site has lists of most of the models you are likely to be nterested in, and prices are easy to find at stores like Richer Sounds and Sevenoaks. You may have a specialist near where you live too.Catherine19 said:

Thank you, that gives me a better idea of costs etc. and I'll go and have a good look online for these items. Do you have any susggestions of any websites that have a good stock/prices?
