Do you want a 'style' speaker package, or are you after a traditional 'boxy' speaker package? Will the system be used soilely for TV/film? You'll find many threads here about the pros and cons of either system. In a nutshell, a traditional package will give you a better sound, but they can be bulky to find space for, and they will need to be supported properly (adding expense to your budget). Style systems won't sound as good (but will still sound good), but will definitely be easier to find a home for.

You pays your money........

Judging from what i've learnt on here, i think you could be struggling to get a AV amp, Blu-ray player and a style speaker package to do both movies and GOOD music all for under £1500.
What size is your room.

Something like the Sony STR-DA2400ES plus the KEF KHT-2005.3 and a Pioneer BDP-51FD would set you back about £1,300 if you shop around so getting a great system for your budget is easily achieveable. If it were me, I'd look at something like that (perhaps the Yamaha DSP-AX863SE amp) and spend more on the speakers - you could easily look at the KEF KHT-3005SE system and, if you can get a good deal, possibly the B&W MT-30 package. Looking at your TV, I might also be tempted to try the Sony BDP-S350 / Sony BDP-S550 and see what the difference there is between this and the Pioneer - you might find the better picture offered isn't worth the extra money - this would then give you more for the amp / speaker combination.
