Has anyone heard the new model 909? Its called the Quad Elite QSP and has very similar specifications to the 909.

If I recall correctly, I heard e mono versions at Munich earlier in the year, but it was hard to say anything about how they sound as they were being played throughout the Wharfedale Jade 5's, which I'm unfamiliar with. I can't imagine it being too different in sound to the excellent 909.

What changes if any would people like to see made for this new amp? Personally i'm hoping this new version might have a little more bass and a slightly clearer midrange. Although the 909 had muscle, i always felt it sounded a bit bland.

The 909 was different to most powerhouses - many power amps are perceivably better at the frequency extremes, but the 909 had a great midrange, even if it did sound a little more prominent than some. Agreed, in some systems it might've sounded a little bland, but in many systems would provide a smoother, more listenable sound that was a little more vinyl-like. Although it did make much of the competition sound all bass and treble....
