Honestly guys I don't have a clue what I'm going to do now.

I've been reading the last few days that this is an issue that others have encountered with my LG OLED so I'm not convinced it's actually a fault as such? The other thought I have had is what happens if the replacement is worse??

I want to the LG 55EC930V but not with this tinge so I'm not sure what to do next so what are your thoughts?

Sorry if I've unwittingly hijacked your thread gel but I'm really unsure what my next move should be. Also the hassle that comes with contacting John Lewis again is something I really want to avoid but right now I'm thinking that a replacement is the way to go but just another LG OLED.

Any advice would be grately appreciated thank you.

Oldboy sounds like you have found this anyway but it is mentioned in this write up of the 960 about the colours on the 930 - from HD TV Test The LG 55EG960V’s biggest improvement over last year’s 55EC930V 1080p OLED TV is in the area of colour uniformity, both on- and off-axis. Whereas the EC930V exhibited uneven colour tinting (notably a magenta tint along the sides), and took on a greenish cast when viewed off-centre, we did not see such issues on the EG960V

It could just be how it is with that set - is that same set as Gel?

I know that you had agreed a price, but I wondered if it has actually been collected yet. If not, when is it due to be collected? I was just wondering that if the sale were to fall through ......

That's exactly the same conclusion I came too when researching the issue but it must be said that other owners haven't reported the issue and that it varies wildly between sets how bad the issue is or indeed if it is present at all so there seems to be consistency to it.

I've seen pictures posted on AV forums of sets that show no signs of the issue at all and some that are far worse than mine, I would say my issue is mild compared with those I've seen but it is something I'm not happy with. I'm of the opinion that it's an issue with the curve on the TV as seems to exhibit the tinge at exactly the points where the screen starts to curve but I'm no expert of course.

Part of me wants to return it hope the replacement is better but the other half of me says stick with it and don't risk the next one being worse because then I wouldn't know what to do next.

Rock - You - Hard Place

If you can sit and watch it without it bugging you all the time - which after a few days of not actively looking for it you might forget to look for it, However if you cant really just sit and watch it and enjoy it - what choice do you have ?

Sorry for the grief caused by it - your not having much luck

I would get them to collect it and get a replacement. I am not sure which TV now though. What did you think to others when you demoed them?

I trust you got a receipt right Oldboy? Just return it as faulty and buy another one. Get them to collect it though. You don't even have to put it back in the box.

Ah, it is indeed too late. Well, if the buyer for whatever reason fails to turn up, Oldboy should be the first to know! Mind you, it might be too big for Oldboy anyway .....

When the 930 was recommended, I thought this problems with tint and slow software should have been mentioned to you. Am sure many know of tint problems with the 930. Am surprised no one brought it to your attention.

I did mention it but all TVs have problems, it's just if you are unlikely to get one with it or not. The reviews were all fine.

I think Native born is suggesting its Gels fault for being the LG sales rep on here.

Gel should swop you for his in compensation

Of course I have a receipt gel.

I'm more inclined to go to the store and resolve the issue in all honesty and I would just want another LG 55EC930V straight replacement just to see if another set is better. I'm going to try and get some photos uploaded on to here today in an attempt to show the issue and how good the performance is in all other areas.

I think it's at least worth giving another set a go before I give up and think about another TV all together.

I think your rock and hard place quote is spot on.

It is annoying me and I think it's too pronounced to ever be able to live with it but I will see how I feel at the weekend and perhaps act at that point. What I will do today is contact LG and see if this is considered normal or a fault.

Check they have stock first if not and you want to just get a refund.

Good idea. No point going all the way up there and they don't have anymore.

Aren't there new models due out this month? Sure I read the 930V was being phased out now but perhaps I was wrong.

Yep, there are some more models coming out soon - good idea. Yep, I would try and get one of them if you can agree it with John Lewis.

No, am not saying it's gel's fault. I just thought he knew of the problem. Its not easy buying tv sets these days. Cause of larger sizes usually encounter all type of problems. If I were you I will be patient & wait for the new line up.
