So much for the idear of keeping the Jadis at least 5 years.....  :shhh:

If I would ever change the Jadis (for the Inpol 2) it would be at no cost (2nd hand)...almost mission impossible...or really low cost (max 1k euro).

At this regard, how would you assess the price of a second hand item like the Jadis considering is in my possession not even from 6 months and it is basically brand new?

I think you should consider upgrading your speakers first so you will be able to appreciate what the Jadis is really capable of.

+1

Also, one thing that I learnt through these years, there is more to add / change with speakers when compared to electronics.

Wish...were did you get the INpol 2 for 2850?!?!

The same dealer as I suggested before.. Projekt Akutik in Bad Schwartau. If I remember it right, it is run by the family (so all people work there are from same family) and very nice people to deal with. Excellent service and that is all what we need.

there's a 5 year old Inpol2 ad at hi-fi markt.de from a German owner for 3500 Euro if anyone's interested (I know I am, but I have no dosh ATM    )

http://www.audio-markt.de/_markt/item.php?id=9784340736&

That is the general going price for an used Inpol2. However, I would not touch anything with valves if it does not have dealer warranty back up. My unit had a dead channel when it arrived where as it was tested perfect at the dealer. I might be unlucky but the dealer shield saved the day. It was promptly picked up, repaired, overhauled in Italy and came back after 5 weeks factory fresh with no additional penny spent. Infact, they even gave me a replacement amp and all this happened on the phone/mail and I never met the dealer even once!

Since you and Roby (Bill and Ted ;) ) have such a pioneering spirit, I would suggest that your next "excellent adventure" should be to here: http://audio-life.nl/ I think it is a journey of under 2 hours, and they stock Audio Note, JM Renaud, Harbeth and Luxman. This is a pilgrimage that I believe is in your interest to make, as I feel you should hear what an Audio Note system sounds like, before you spend a lot of money elsewhere.....as well as assessing what the above brands have to offer. As the forum's official "tasters," it is now part of your remit! Cno

I to would be keen to hear your thoughts on Audionote, but whilst there it would be a sin not to hear what Harbeth has to offer!

Cno,

I have been in touch for a long time with Casper (dealer from Audio Life) a few months ago regarding Audio Note products. Unfortunately it is quite a long drive, let me ask Roby if would be ok with that

I have always wanted to listen to an Audio Note system...Luxman we already had a taste during the Perreaux demo a few weeks back...we heard their most expensive monoblocks (it was an over 100k euro system)

Thanks a lot Oldric! I must to admit, the idea of going Pathos (Amplifier + streamer when it will be the moment) it is really taking shape....

They should be tube-friendly, at 90-96 dB/W/m (depending on the model) and at 8 ohm, dropping very little over the frequency spectrum. As for their sound: should be very musical, but I didn't get to hear them yet; they should be available much nearer to where I live by next week or so (Caspar from Audio-life promised me). That shop in Ninove, Belgium is at walking distance from my work [I think Alex and Roby know it as well], while Audio-life is a 200 km drive. But the Devores do get rave reviews. See: www.devorefidelity.com.

Doc,

Thanks a lfor your insights, really appreciate. Which shop in Ninove are you talking about? And do you also live in Belgium?

Hi Alex,

Yes, I'm Belgian  , I live near Ghent at the moment. As Roby mentioned (hi, Roby, by the way), I'm indeed talking of Sound-Center. Raf is rather LFD- and Harbeth-prone, but I don't blame him, as I do like that particular combination. But now he's also got Devore-speakers (Gibbon3XL, and by next week the Gibbon88s should arrive). You can of course always demo them with your own amp. Me myself, I'll give the 88s a listen, with an LFD, one of these weeks.

Have a nice weekend!

Doc, nice to meet you!

Yes Roby knows the shop and we will probably go there listening to the Gibbon 3XL soon and the Gibbon 88S when they arrive as they look very nice also. Could you please let us know when are you going? Would be very nice to meet there :bounce:

Ah, come on, Roby, you must have heard that one before: "Where are you from? Belgium? Oh yeah, I know, isn't that the capital of Brussels?" (mostly with American accent) :)
