I got my replacement 65VT65 yesterday - fairplay to Richer Sounds for properly honouring their guarantee.

First thing I noticed was the silence - at this stage first few hours with my last set the fans were very audible - I could really hear them.

This set - no fan noise..... I have checked and they are working so I must be a lucky one or they have changed things with the fan design / firmware

Or its not been on long enough yet to get hot 2 x 1 hours ish

Mine are quiet too, but one thing that has happened is I was moving it the other day and the mains on the back is quite loose and the mains cable got stood on and it started buzzing and turning itself on and off, this happened about 5 times and now I think I can hear the fans more! Not sure what to do now.

It isn't really a problem but a little annoying, especially because it was as quiet as a mouse. It may be in my imagination a little but I am monitoring it.

The fans on my ZT were quite audible to begin with but have settled down in the past few months - that's not just because I've 'got used to it', they used to be audible with the amp at normal listening volume while watching TV but now you have to have the volume turned right down to hear them.

Put a couple of magnetic PC dust filters over the fan grills which also helped take the edge off the noise, and really isn't an issue now. From reading online forums though the level of fan noise on the VT and ZT seems to vary greatly between individual sets.

Nope, they're fine - they're designed to allow airflow. Have just put my hand on the back of the TV (which has been on for about an hour & half) and the back panel isn't any warmer than it would be without them. They don't eliminate the fan noise, just take the edge off, but they're cheap as chips on amazon so worth trying out.

How's the new TV going? Are you going to be more careful this time? :)

Yeah going well gel happy so far but not had it on much had a lot going on.

I am not keen on the un calibrated image its not bad but its way too red, blacks are a solid mush no gradation and its overly bright at the top end of the gamma

Will get that all sorted in a few weeks
