after a cheap upgrade from the yamaha rx-v361 i have using for stereo ... mission 780se speakers being used . i was looking at the rotel ra-04 but all i can see is the se version :( the nad is available new for £169 and i dont want to spend £300 tbh . £250 was my max

not bad but a bit bass heavy.you could get something better from the yamaha entry level .for me it works great.

well music will be mostly from my pc .. either via hard drive or the sont blu-ray player i got in it ... in the case practially all of it via pc hd and either media player or itunes

My housemate has the 315, he thinks its a great little amp for the price.

Yes it's a good little amp and for that money it'll do a great job

If you wanted an alternative and you were happy with 2nd hand the NAD C320BEE via eBay would be a very good choice as well.

I'd ignore 'ear'; I feel he's a dislike for NAD full stop...

not really.full sound at 9 oclok position volume.good.but any louder it can crack the balance.this for the 315.never heard others.

well i dont go mega loud .. and seeing as i'm back at my old folks house i cant go for limit anyway lol ... i just want a good tune on a budget .. ive had high end in the past , but at this point in my life i'm stuck with a low budget

for low budget id get somthing else.I sure think my ax.397 trounces by miles the low entry amps from nad marantz denon etc.

Personally with your budget I dont think you'll get better than either of the NAD's mentioned above; more so the NAD C320BEE integrated but the C315BEE will do a superb job

You could be lucky enough to find an Arcam Alpha 9 integrated on eBay but as I said; it's whether you'll look at 2nd hand items as well.

You can usually get a lot more bang for your buck going 2nd hand!

yeah i realise 2nd hand gets better performance ... but ive never bought anything 2nd hand .. dont even buy games ... plucked for the NAD C315 being delivered this week. hope i hear a difference from the yamaha av amp considering my old speakers

well it arrived today ( got to say first class delivery service....ordered yuesday afternoon and get in on thurs ) - first impression are very good . definately kicks my yammys *** musically . much more authority . volume knob goes loud quickly tho ... very quickly . wouldnt want to have that cranked up to loud if i was switching it on blindly.quite impressed with it so far .. cant wait till uts warmed up/ run in .. anyone know how long it takes ?

Give it cvlose to 150/200 hours and it'll have developed well

TBH you wont need much more than the volume at 10 o'clock or else it may push your speakers too much... Should be loud enough at that level!

OH dear ,

bad news i'm affraid . after a weeks use ... its faulty . had a session during the afternoon a few days ago .. wasnt playing it anywhere near loud .. and heard a pop ... and no sound .. went towards amp and could smell burning .

switched it on and off ... and sound coming out is know distored ... waiting for company i got it from to get back to me on how to return it .. not very happy :(
